WHAT A GREAT TURN OUT TODAY AT HAREWOOD HOUSE. IT WAS GREAT TO SEE SO MANY OF OUR CLUB, AND SO MANY VEEDUBS ALL SHAPES AND SIZES IN ONE FIELD. AND THE WEATHER STAYED FINE. THANKS TO GRAHAM WHO DROVE DOWN TO THE SHOW WITH US. I DIDN'T TAKE MY CAMARA SO WILL BE GRETA TO SEE SOME PHOTOS, SO HURRY UP AND PUT THEM ON!

Hi everyone. What a great show Harewood House was. We won Best Air-cooled Club Stand for the second year in a row. I think that is a great achievement and I would like to thank everyone who attended and made our club what it is today. We have a nice glass trophy that I will bring to the September meet for everyone to see. We also received a £100 Waitrose food hamper. The hamper will be raffled off at our Christmas get together. Well done everyone we have a great club with some great vw’s. Pictures will be on the website and forums shortly I know that the club is very laid back with little organisation but yesterday I felt that its about time that we have more organisation for when we attend shows. For example: The banner was placed in between Derek’s vans, which kind of became the main talking point for the club stand. This meant that Derek & June did a lot of talking to promote the club & very little looking around the show (Thank You for your efforts). It would be a good idea for the future if we have a rota system so that each person or a couple of people hang around the club stand for maybe 1 hour in a day and speak to people & answer any questions as they pass about the club. It would be a good idea if we have a short form for people to fill in if they would like to be on our email mailing list. We could just collect name and email address for people that are interested. We did not have any flyer’s yesterday. There were so many people asking for a flyer. I will make sure that we have plenty of flyer’s for future shows and give them to all club members prior to a show. The banner looks great but with the lack of a proper banner stand it lets it down a little. I will get a price on a nice collapsible stand and this will be purchased with club funds. One further point. AOL is blocking any emails that I send, if there is a ‘safe list’ could you add harrogatevwclub@hotmail.com to it please. & please let everyone who is on AOL aware of this problem. Great ideas Hermann, I know from talking to you, Derek and Alex on Sunday that a rota system will be the best way to ensure EVERYONE enjoys the show.
Many, many thanks to Derek and June for their great efforts on Sunday in effectively manning the club HQ for the whole duration of the day.... You guys were great and a major part in our club winning the trophy........ just think what we can achieve next year!
I was honestly gob smacked by the numbers we had on the display and felt quite out of place down on the Wolfsburg stand but luckily Alex sorted me out and the organisors allowed me to transfer slowly up to the club stand for the end of the show!
Great show...great result for the club! ;D

If you seen a guy running around the AIRCOOLERS clubstands in a White VW FESTIVAL t-shirt...that was me.
We have to look into the camping a wee bit more for next year, we dont mind campfires, but not 6 meters high flames... , and the reving engines, whats that all about...anyway...I had a great weekend.
Thanks to Derek and June, it was more then fair to get the trophy to them on the day for all there hard work, I got some more pics taken from other websites and will put them on the pics forum soon.
