Our Beetle will shortly be for sale. 1966 Pastel white,1300cc, original red interior, BRM's. Lowered-adjusters on front, splines at rear. It will be sold with blade bumpers and not the Yank spec (if anyone knows it) I have just replaced the heater channels in feb07 and anything else that needed doing at the time. sailed through the MOT after the work. This is a really, really solid car and I am pretty stupid to be getting rid, but an 'oval' is calling out. I am looking for close to 3k, but open to sensible offers. Can be viewed anytime - give me a call. 07740 684242.

Well, what a weekend.
Picked up my new (56) oval Sunday morning. 2 owners from new, the last has had it since 1975. Absolutely chuffed to bits with it. I was rather worried to say the least as it was an E-bay special and we all know how deceptive pics can be.
Sold our likkle 'Benny' ( to Steve C) on sunday night, so my bank balance is still reasonably healthy. Louise had a tear in her eye after Benny had gone- it's not as if she put all the hours into making him a d**n cool ride.
Wishing Steve many a happy mile and looking forward to seeing him about at the meetings.
I'll try and get some pics on here or be at the next meeting in 'bluebell'. Girly name, but it's what the previous owner had called her, so it may as well remain for some more years.

It worked out really well. I Knew I was collecting the oval on sunday, but didn't know how good/bad it would be . I really wanted to swap the bumpers over before Benny went, which is why the advert said 'shortly for sale'. You can't refuse a sale though, so I let him go with the bumpers and my new spotlight, that had only been on a week or two The oval does require work, but I think I've got a very very good deal. See you soon. Do I need to change anything for Newby Hall ?, or will I get in with Benny's reg No/ticket?

Entries have gone in to the organisers....I would say leave the tickets as is and just put Benny's ticket on Bluebell - the guys on the gate don't study the tickets as you drive through anyway Any pics of Bluebell to post up yet Steve?

Hopefully, here's some pics of my new oval. As you know last week worked out very well. Wish I could say the same for this weekend. I was dropping Lucy off at her dancing class just after lunch on Saturday. The traffic stopped, I stopped. I had enough time to check my rear view mirror, only to see a look of terror on the face of the driver behind ( a woman, 2 in fact - chatting as usual and not paying attention). I heard the skid and just knew what was coming. All I could do was sit and wait with my hands over my head screaming 'NO'. Well, talk about livid I've not even had 'bluebell' a week yet. It's pushed the crank pulley in, broken the fuel pump and dizzy and who knows what else in the engine. There doesn't seem to be any body damage apart form the decklid and rear panel. so repairs should be ok. I want to keep the rear panel, so I hope the repairers have a good panel beater. Colour match could also be a problem? You have to laugh !! ( I think not)

Oh No! Poor ol' Bluebell. Thats a real bummer Steve - I get so nervous when driving through town for the same reasons... 6 volt brake lights aren't the brightest huh Apart from the obvious the oval looks fantastic - who's doing your repair work?
