Hi All,
I have been talking to the Oak and we have 2 option for the style of Xmas dinner this year. The traditional 3 course meal (as previous years) or hot buffet.
The hot buffet would consist of:
* Chilli * Curry * Rice * Salads * Baked Potatoes * Fresh bread * Veggie option (if required)
If buffet is chosen more people could attend.
I have created a 7 day poll at the top of the thread. Could I request you make a vote on the preference of either 3 course or buffet. The majority poll will then be our Xmas do style meal, which then I will be asking for deposits/confirmation and i will post the final details up.
As I said I have talking to the pub and the entertainment is nearly sorted and I will confirm the camping arrangements shortly.
Thanks
Rich..

Rich,
Poll is a great idea.............but a poll is one attending one vote is it not and on this site only members can vote, we are 5 people and only 1 vote??? so how does that work then
IMO a Christmas Do is all about festive spirit and something different, the proposed buffet menu is.............cheap, drab and everyday

Alex, Your comments have been taken on board I have asked the pub to see if a more xmas style approach could be adopted to the buffet. Derek, I have also taken your comments on board. You are right, however it was the simplest way of asking the members their opinion. I wanted people to have the chance to voice their thoughts rather than me book and make it compulsory. You are indeed correct about making it something a bit different and festive and hopefully that is what it will be. we dont want drab, but cheaper is not a bad thing though. £50 per couple before drinks is a lot of money especially around xmas time. So Im just trying to offer some cost effective alternatives. Kaz, No problems. We have plenty of space and your more than welcome. Ive asked the question on camping and hopefully can update you soon. I hope this is ok, Im trying me best to please all. Rich..

HDVWCLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY 2010 Date: Friday 10th Dec
Venue: Royal Oak, StaveleyHi, Ive been talking to the pub and they have kindly agreed to create a special Christmas themed buffet for the clubs Christmas party. The buffet will consist of: * Turkey * Roast potatoes * Yorkshire Puddings * Seasonal Vegetables * Pigs in Blankets * Stuffing * Gravy * Bread sauce * Cranberry Sauce * Roast Parsnips * Sprouts with bacon * Coffee and Homemade mince pies A vegetarian option is available if required. (Please let me know). All for £12.50 per head plus free camping (if your brave enough) I personally think this sounds like good value, and something a little different to try so this will be the meal format of the evening. As previously said the night will contain entertainment and laughter and we plan to deliver a fun party evening for all to enjoy. I wish to start a list of people attending, however your name will only be added once payment has been received. Please PM me if you wish to come along, so I can give you my details for payment and I will then I can add you to list. Many Thanks Rich.
