Heres one for starters......
This is the best camp site I have visited in UK. A must if you are in West Scotland.
Glen Nevis Campsite - Fort William, just at the base of Ben Nevis.
Stunning views of the mountain and Lochaber. Fabulous walking in the surrounding hills and mountains and the drive there through Glen Coe and Rannoch Moor is breathtaking!!

I have stayed at this campsite too a couple of years ago whilst visiting the World Mountain Bike Championships at Aonach Mor. It's a really great site with fantastic facilities - just watch out for the midges if you visit in summer, they are real blood suckers! Your right about the drive to Fort William though Alex....absolutely breathtaking when you pass through Glen Coe to Bridge of Orchy.

sounds like a great place, approx how long would it take to drive to this site.[in a van] Its about 6 hours in a modern car, so maybe 8 in a van - although there are plenty of stop offs along the way to take in the sights (Loch Lomond is awesome!). The A82 from Glasgow to Fort William (through Glen Coe) is very windy and hilly so pretty slow but is well worth it for the views. Once you get to the campsite you are essentially right at the base of Ben Nevis and is a great base for climbing and mountain biking. Would love to go again in summer.
