Well this like all things in life things come to an end (Of sorts), the kab (and me) have been totally blathered to-day (Nice dry warm day) in WAXOIL to stop the rust worm......every nook, cranny, hole, ledge got it, whether it wanted it or not!!!!, mountains of it, this is one VW that rust worm is NOT getting its hands on ...........hopefully The resto is coming to its final conclusion, a couple of things still to do (interior light not working and front seats need tweeking for rake) but apart from that its done really. Its been a great experience, it took me back many years to previous beetle resto's but this has been the most enjoyable, it couldn't have been done though without all the help from the "VW World" I can't list those that helped, it would be a thread on its own, I have to thank Nick and Andy at RPM who gave me great support at times of need, Lee from Ferrensby for a great paint job and the odd bacon butty, Steve Bowles for the hood and trimming and my great friend Paul @ T3D for those head scratching moments and HOW does he find all those so rare NOS parts. Everyone in the club for moral support and making this thread an unbelievable SIZE!!!! So....if anyone wants my help just let me know Some BEFORE and AFTER pics to record the whole thing....enjoy, I am sure June will enjoy cruising and using it. The day me and Steve (Daisybus) picked it up in Bradford The "Box of Tricks" at least thats how it was, a pile of bits The Floor pan and the daubnting task......will it recover..... The body in the "Shop" its a bloody scrapper really Some moral support to make me believe it CAN be done - The floor pan blasted and painted Right....time to get on with it The END RESULT THE END...24th August 2007...

Hopefully June will bring "Lilly" to the next meet

Derek - I have just spent some time going through this thread (when I should have been working - higly addictive!). I am truly impressed. After seeing the Kab in question at Ripley I had to see what went into it. What an inspiration!
