Not having much luck are you but it will get better when you get over the teething troubles A freind of mine had his fuel tank changed by Manchester Air Cooled, he got the tank at VanFest last year and had it changed early this year. If I can find a tele no for you I'll post it up. Cheers Mick Hi Kas I spoke to my mate (Bogman on the forum), he's away in his van at the moment, who had his tank done at Manchester Air Cooled. He said they did a great job and to speak to Steffan, their no is 01618775558. Hope this helps Cheers Mick

Hi guys the next phase - we followed keredewor s instructions and a awful lot of muck came out, we filtered the petrol and kept flushing it through. We started her up and she was spitting out very dark exhaust fumes and kept stalling. So we think the next step is to take out fuel pump and replace to eliminate this , does this seem about right. thanks kaz & tez

Now you have flushed out is your current in line petrol filter clean?
Remove the fuel pump and immerse it in clean petrol in a little tub, withdraw it from the tub and drain off, I would not have thought the fuel pump would be faulty, more like contaminated.
Put it all back, check your fuel filter (The simple £1 a go in line see through filter), it should be clean.
Run the van up and let it settle on tickover until it gets to temperature, then increase revs and hopefully all the crud will have been dispersed.
The nly real way of cleaning out the fuel system is to strip and clean from the tank through to the cylinders, sometimes you can be lucky and the crud will not have got past your filter and in to your carb or injectors, looking at your old fuel filter it may allready be contaminated throughout.

You can get fuel cleaner from Halfords, pour it into the tank, let it settle and fire up the engine leaving it runnning (Even if it is spluttering) for about an hour, every now and then blipping the accelerator to drive through more fuel into the injector.
That might, just might work, its at least worth another try if you have to wait that long.
You could also call Jext @ Dubtricks see if he can fit you in if the above suggestion doesn't work and then get your car RECOVERED!! (If your in the AA or whatever) back to his place for free....
