Just got back from Harewood VW Festival where we have been chatting to some fellow club member and thought it would be good to invite people (including your kids) around to our new house for a BBQ and camp over. We thought Saturday the 1st September. We live just five miles away from the pub where the club meet so we thought if we have a BBQ on the Saturday evening anyone wanting to stay over could camp in our paddock and then go on to the club meet the following day or combine a camp and run out and then finish at the pub. We are open to suggestions for the Sunday but we think it would be nice to do something as a club rather than just meeting at events. We have never tried this before but I think we could accommodate about 10 to 15 camping units IE a van or a tent. Let us know what you think and we can get something sorted. It will be a case of bringing your own food and drinks and we can go from there. We are aware that Simon and Richard have put a lot of effort into organizing thing in the past (Christmas party etc) and thought it time we got more involved to spread the load. Anyway let us know if you are interested in coming either for the BBQ or the BBQ and camp so we can start planning. Phil, Vic and Olly

Hi Phil, Sounds good I think your idea could be a good formula......count us in (Simon & Sam) ;D Just a thought for Sunday there in the Northern classic vw show on and we could all cruise over to the show for the day or afternoon it's in the Halifax area? If not we could all just meet up at Staveley? Check out there website link below for the show info we should show our support to another local show! www.bradfordvdub.org.uk/northernclassic/index.php

Had a great response so far with four vans already. The following days Run to Halifax for the VW show sounds like a great plan.

Just to confirm that dogs are welcome but will need to be kept under control as we are surrounded by cattle and of more interest to the dogs, rabbits.

Phil
Good to meet you all at Harewood. Mushy Pea is all set to visit Scotland this week and I'm not sure we'll be back in time for the 1st September. I thought we looked rather colourful with Ruby, Ms Pea and yourselves alongside each other - just need to find a yellow bay to join next time!
If i get back in time I'll definitely try to see if there's still space to come over. If not then enjoy what should be a really good BBQ etc. especially if you all get a good run out on the Sunday
Doubtless meet again soon anyway -perhaps the October club meet?
Cheers
Stephen
PS Thanks to all for organising the Hgte. stand on the Sunday. Despite the weather it was a good event
