Well since the kids came along we can no longer stuff stuff in the back so it was about time for a trailer..so a years trawl of Ebay got me this.. A Snipe 1960's GRP trailer....It was down in Bournmouth..so had to wait a while until I was down that way to pick it up...had an eventful journey home as the suspension is a single wishbone that doesn't really flex...so very bouncy and huge camber on the wheels...this is to be changed to indespension units... Added the jockey wheel and started doing some filling of the fibreglass Nice detail on the mudguards..unfortunately these are going as I'm fitting 10 inch mini alloys and they wont fit underneath..also they are PVC and have big gouges and will be impossible to repair and spray succesfully..I won't throw them but will keep them just in case. Guess what rear lights I'm putting in?? Also fitted some roofbars I modifiedfrom a Jeep Cherokee to put bikes on

Right the wheels arrived yesterday so off to my local tyre shop to get some rubber..as you can see you can't get low profile tyres for 10inch wheels ..good job the arches are going to be meaty. Then discovered that the grease nipple on the new hubs foul the wheel so down to my friendly nut and bolt man to replace them with grub screws...then find that the swing arm only just fits in the rim..so out with the angle grinder to take a good 10mm off..the mounting plates will also need a bit of working on as they are a bit close to the rubber.....why can't everything fit first time :?: Well I like a challenge Well the arches arrive next week so see you then

A couple of purchases arrived this week. First are LED numberplate lights that are also the number plate bolts And the wheel arches arrived.....will need a bit of trimming but should give the trailer a beefy look Off to James's next thursday to get the suspension units welded in and get the spare wheel mounted, so I'll post some piccies then

A fruitful day at my mate James's at Sculpsteel..... Body off and working out where to put the suspension units So off with the awful wisbone suspension Lots of cutting and welding later......suspension units on and a spare wheel mount..also a tube welded to the chassis to take the electric cable The finished result I've been trying to get the wheel arches to fit but I'm afraid they just won't be right...so I'm currently looking at GRP Trike mudguards on Ebay...Also the roof bars are just not substantial enough so back to the drawing board there.....

Tell me about it Derek ...yep the bus is getting a bit chipped & battered but I have a few mechanical improvements up my sleeve before the bodywork gets the attention it deserves ;D
