Hi Simon - she is looking very good now. It's always great when you can extend the life of an old VW for future generations to enjoy. There are some cool Dubs over here in NZ too - Split Screens are not that expensive so some day we have one but at the moment I am having to run 94 and a 99 Gold which I will be keeping for the next 40 or so years.

Sam and I travelled around Nz a few years ago and we loved it and thought about moving, found a lovely early bay for sale and wish I'd bought it......!!!! where about are you we like the north Island and did loads of surfing on both coasts. thanks for you nice comments cheers Simon

Hi Simon - we are in Auckland so are quite close to the big surf at Piha on the West Coast. We visited Port Waikato too which is another big surf place with black volcanic sand.

Looking great Simon, your doing an ace job there mate Thanks for the kinds words, but I have been the parts sourcing person really as we find stuff that needs replacing I source the parts ready for the next stage! Dave's Dad (Mick) is the guy with all the skill........ I helped where I can removing bits ie taking engine out etc. It has taken actually a bit longer than planned due to the amount of stuff we kept finding to weld and clean up before and prep and paint could start but no the time spent is well worth it as we know it's done right!!!!! I might make the next club meet if I can get interior back in, and it's not raining of course!!!! ;D

Now have a tow bar added over the weekend. Been wanting this towbar fitting for ages as I've have had the dam trailer for nearly 10 months. The removable Towbar needed a new bracket welding up, which I managed to blag a freebie, plumbing job equals welding!!!! ;D I had it blasted and powder coated last week and now fitted over the weekend. It works great and I can't believe I can still get the engine lid open too!!! just need to cable tie the wires up neatly and job done!!!! First trailer trip this weekend.......Ooooooh how stuff can we take???
