We usually do Porth Beach, but this year we tried somewhere else. Crantock - Beautiful site which is just south of Newquay. The site is tucked away in a little valley and you wouldn't even know it was there. It still has the old farmhouse campsite feel to it. Own fishing pond, lots of walks for those with dogs. Has it's 'own' beach within 5-10 mins walk which is better for surfing than the beaches near Porth. I tand to be in when everyone else is still in bed, so I need a beach within walikng distance. You can walk to Newquay via the estuary, but be warned it's a very long walk back at high tide as we found out. walking in brings you out at fistral. Follow signs for the BOWGIE INN and you can't miss it. There is also a big 'commercial' one at Crantock, but follow signs to the Bowgie and it's on the left about half a mile before the Inn
