Any ideas on why the wipers on MushyPea have packed up? They were going slow and now have stopped altogether. Also in the past they've made a squeaking noise. Access seems difficult, so any ideas guys?

Sounds like a burnt out wiper motor, removal and replacement is not too difficult, suggest however that you remove the wipers from the spigots first and try the wipers agin to see if the spigots rotate, if they don't rotate remove the lock nuts and washers from the spigots and then remove the motor and wiper assembly from beneath the dash (It is all one long assembly), you will have to remove the parcel shelf (Attached by crews to the bulkhead).
Sometimes they can become seized, remove each rotating arm from its spigot (They are snap tight) and try your motor again, if it rotates freely I would WD40 all the rotating parts to see if that frees everything up, re-assemble and try again before re-fitting.
If the motor has burnt out you can get replacements from most of the breakers.
Hope that helps you

You can of course test the motor for open circuit of the windings if you have a multimeter tester, just unclip the connnector under the dash (Marck with a marker pen or a bit of tape before you unclip for orientation of the connector) and test from the connector to the motor.
