Hi all.
I've currently got a 1973 1303s 1679cc bug with the old single carb. Its a twin port engine and i've purchased the twin 34 ict weber carbs.
Now originally I was planning on taking it to the herbie hospital for leon to fit, but have recently decided that i need the cash nd want to try nd fit them myself.
Has anyone done this before? if so, is it an engine out job or is it fairly straight forward to do?
Does anyone know of any websites that will guide me with this job?
Cheers
Boka

The fitting of the carbs isn't too much of a problem (engine out would probably be easier , especially when fitting the linkage), but balancing the carbs can often be tricky and a session on a rolling road is sometimes needed to dial them in properly

Hi Boka
I have 34 ict carbs on the split and at present the engine is out for an engine bay respray and a bit of a spruce up.
I didn't fit the carbs myself but once you can see things out of the vehicle its easier to see what possible problems u may have.
your more than willing to come round for a looksee.

Ps.... then run welland have not caused any problems
