Hi, I'm stuck! I have a new pair of mud flaps that I want to fit to the rear of my 69 Beetle. They came with 'L' shaped brackets like the ones shown in the hardware section of the article below www.ratwell.com/technical/Mudflaps.htmlHowever when I have looked for a place to mount them I can't see anywhere that they would fit. Has anyone got any experience/ideas as to how to fit these? If any one has any pics of how they fit that would really help. Thanks Paul

Hi Paul, I have mudflaps on my Beelte and made my own brackets that are attached to the Bumper bolts on the inside of your wing, I will take some pictures now its still light and will post them on here, but I have a '66 and not sure if it the same setup!

Thanks Alex - it's really annoying as I thought this would be a simple job but it is turning into a bit of a nuisance.

Just seen the website and are thise the brackets you are on about? The small strips on the left are for the back and the long side of the angle ones are for your Bumper Bolts,so the shorter sides are for the mudflaps, logo side... undo them and put the brackets in place and re-do the bolts again, thats it, all done.

Thanks Alex, I thought that they would fit onto the brackets - but the holes on my mounts are at a funny angle so I think I will have to drill a new hole into the bracket and use one of of the existing bumper bracket holes to straighten it out. Paul

I see... Think you need to make your own brackets, its simple now you have the other L shape, just cut the long side and weld your own plate on it and drill holes in the right places... So you dont have to bent the L shape anymore.
