Just thought this event is worth a mention now. The small part of the show we caught last year was good. Speaking to you guys who stopped the night and watched the entertainment were impressed. Camping Friday Saturday. Being local it must be a good thing to support. www.vikingvolks.co.uk/

This was a very good event, well worth the cost - a remarkable tenner each for the weekend! The entertainment was first class, beer tent a bit weeny, and the loos were horrid by the end of the weekend. No matter, we will be there again this year. Hopefully a club pitch could be arranged?

Tickets are now available on the website priced at £15 each for the weekend. The line up of bands looks good, so please all pray for good weather! www.vikingvolks.co.uk/

Hi all, yeah we went to Viking Volks last year and we loved it (toilets a let down but they have said there will be more this year). I'm taking 'Peekaboo' bug and Marc is taking the 'Mystery Machine' camper. Hope to see you all there.

So Friday, the weather was a bit miserable and only a few vans were at the Volksfest. The trade stalls were few close to non existant. Although knowing where the site is helps, couldn't help but see a pretty much lack of vw signs. The odd arrow here and there would have helped newcomers. Friday nights band were er.. lets say a bit 'special'. Chris reminds me of our age gap, but to be honest not sure wether the punky type music appreciators were represented. I suppose me being an old f*rt will just say it was a 'special' experience. Maybe the standup audience of 6 made the band nervous. But I'm sure these were stage guys. Visually the 'anythings' would go well at the halloween bash at whitby. Saturday night was great with a superb rock mosh band called White Fire who hammered out some 'bangin tunes' yey great stuff. Then some bird called the ...? forgot name.. nuf said. The night ended with a brilliant band called the Legend.. Bob Marley experience. They were ace and I do hope entries covered costs, because these guys were unbelievable, making it an absoleutely bargain weekend. Folks came out their vans and danced by the stage, others just stared like me. The toilets were cleaned and sorted and there were twelve of them. But basic and functional. My overview was, it was a worthwhile weekend and I will gladly go again. Maybe this event needs better advertising. Seemed plenty in the field on Saturday but really needed many more to support. This must be a rare North Yorkshire event that needs backing so it appears as a regular event, as our club is in North Yorkshire we should support it surely.

I went along today, left after a couple of hours purely as there wasn't much going on and everyone seemed to be packing up and leaving anyway. I'm sure it's one of those, had I gone for the weekend then it would of been that more enjoyable or not... having to camp in a tent

Sadly the event was not held together by trade stands, apart from a clothing stall (which was great, not seen this one before) the others were food snacky bars. A couple of parts oddment stalls had packed up Sunday morning . So I suppose If you called Sunday, there was little to do or see. We had a lucky fall onto a couple of things we needed from a used parts selection on Saturday. Including two quarter light frames for our Oval. Saw Mike and his superquick red bug make a cameo appearance on Saturday. Early hours on Sunday were blooming cold.

It was a good gig, sadly let down by the inclement weather on Friday (we chickened out and turned up on Saturday). I agree with Stooge, not enough trade stands. Full marks to the guy with the ethnic/fairtrade stand for staying open into the night. It needs to be better advertised next year though and I shall pass my comments along to Steve who organizes the event. A club stand is a must too. Enjoyed meeting a few new faces too. Not sure who it was next to us in the pair of type 25s, but hope you all recovered from what must have been one hell of a hangover. The Marley tribute band were brilliant. Didn't realise I liked reggae so much! The guys on the gate dancing along.......priceless!
