Thought some might be interested in the transformation of my T5 and perhaps give some some ideas for their builds. So if you want to see the progress carry on reading.. I bought the van in June with an engine problem. No one knew quite what was wrong but I did manage to drive it home from Barnsley all be it with a few coughs and splutters. A deal was done on the bases it might need a new head/block and maybe a new engine.. So this is what was bought, So unlike the previous owner who thought he would start the conversion work before fixing the engine I sent the van off to RM Autos in Knaresborough. After various tests the engine waas indeed declared dead. Cracked piston in No2 and No3 was split in half scoring the block. A new engine has now been put in including new turbo clutch and DMF. After small fortune the vans back on the road, just in time for the refurb work to commence. With a new Austop roof ordered, booked in for paintwork and new seats booked in to the trimmers and an interior also ordered today the existing interior had to be stripped. Ready for work to begin. Thankfully the floor and carpet wasnt exactly well stuck so came out fairly easy and in large reusable chunks so looks like the T4 might get some new covering to various bits. Bonus. Also treat the van to some new wheels, in need of a refurbed but booked in for that to. Next stage, wheel refurb and paint work. Theres a few fibreglass parts to be added to, to keep the painters busy.

So the van is in for paint on Monday and wheels refurbed so a few goodies have turned up today ready. In said pile we have: Sportline copy front spoiler LED fog light kit and wiring loom Headlight eyebrows Barn door roof spoiler Rear bumper corner spoilers Wind deflectors and some very shiney side bars All should go well with the wheels that are also getting refurbed. Rangerover Overfinch 22in rims. They might not be comfortable but they will certainly look the business short term. Lets see if I can live with them.

So the vans gone to paint and Wes & Ollie at Car Cosmetics have made a good start stripping the van and keying. Called up to see what they had discovered in the part of the van we knew had previously had filler and it wasn't good but the guys are doing their thing and its going to turn out all good ;D Bumpers off yet again for some colour coding and spoiler adding. The rear arch where we knew we had filler but didn't quite know how much. Check out the lip near the bottom of the arch where this next piece fell from. Slightly thick on the filler, don't think the previous repairer knew how to panel beat. Ollies got the wheels now to for a bit of refurb so in a week or so all will be shiney ;D
