With winter looming I’m now trying to find temporary homes for my two Mk2 Sciroccos - ideally as near to the Harlow Hill area of Harrogate as possible and I don’t mind sharing with other enthusiasts if such a facility exists locally. Lily is the finished article being in near concours condition and so I just need a regular sized garage to store her. She’s not exactly a daily driver, but I like to get her out as often as possible so I do need regular access. Poppy is undergoing a complete restoration and so I need a large garage or small workshop where I can work on her periodically over the winter months. If you can help provide the space I need for either then please get in touch. You can contact me through this site (though I’m only on here occasionally), the Scirocco Register or by emailing cptcustom@aol.com Even if you can’t help with storage space, please feel free to get in touch. I might not get along to club meetings very often, but I’d love to link up with other enthusiasts in the Harrogate area.

Only place that I can think off is at the show ground. I lots of caravans get stored there over winter. Try there and if not suitable ask them of any other places.

I'm up Harlow Hill though so it's a bit far to walk to when I want to get the white one out and I doubt they'd let me work on the other one, which is being restored. Still no harm asking. Ideally, I want some workshop space and if I can share with sme other enthusiasts that would be the ideal. I know of lots of guys down south that share bigger lock ups, but not heard of anything like that around here that do likewise.

If you want to give me more details though I can happily advertise it through the Scirocco Register. There's bound to be somebody on there looking for another project ... I know one guy that's got 7 or 8 of them! PAUL

How far are you willing to travel??? For Poppy's restoration obviously I'd expect to have to travel ... say within 10 miles or so (up to 20 minutes drive). To store Lily though, given she's used regularly and my wife usually has the other car for work, not far at all ... needs to be within easy walking distance so say Beckwith Rd / Otley Rd. Why have you got something in mind?

Good news guys, I've got sorted with somewhere for Poppy and work is going well. The next big hurdle (given that I've no mechanical knowledge) is to get the engine out. Thankfully, a few of the guys over on the Scirocco Register have offered to give me a hand fairly soon. As for Lily, she continues to be garaged at home, but that's not a problem with the better weather looming. Hopefully, I'll get her along to one of the Harrogate meets over the next couple of months.
