Lost my job earlier in the year, managed to find something else, but means running the cab daily, anyone got any suggestions to keep me running throughout the winter, already leaking, steaming up and bloomin cold! It's going in to Dubtricks next month for new drivers door and going to get all window seals replaced, so should be a good start. Any other tips?

I'm driving my Beetle all year round, and last year was freeeeeeezing, and also lots of fun in the snow though... I suggest wrap up warm with had gloves and scarf... i had a spare battery in the garage on charge incase i couldn't get it started in the cold mornings at 6am. quick battery replace and where on the way then. Good luck...

The heaters on a beetle are very, very effective as long as everything is functioning, get your beele up on blocks at the rear, make sure all the cables to the heat exchangers function, check that the heat exhangers are also working ok and that all the relevant heating tubes off the tinware are tight, sealed and have no splits, check the bellows connection from the heat excvhangers to the heater channels and inside check all vents work correctly, in the boot do a check of the same, if you look at june's karmann cab resto on readers rides the pics of the heating system are posted, it gives you an idea of the routing.
If all is in order the heating will be fine, after all they were built in Wolfsburg and how cold do you think it gets there, its positively summer her in winter compared to Bavaria....;-)
By the way you can do all this yourself
