This is our new member of the family. His name is marmite, he is a 1973 Westy with a freshly rebuilt 1800cc Type 4 engine. All docs point to 1972 build so hopefully tax exempt (Ive sent off so fingers crossed) His had complete new brake system put in aswell. Interior is complete inc the stool, mosq nets and awning and is in VGC condition. As he was stored for nearly 18 years he does need some attention to the body, which we have plans to do during the year inc fresh paint. Looking forward to the new camping year in him !!! Rich & Stacey ;D

Rich
That is a great find, you are very lucky.
Marmite has the Westfaia Continental Interior along with the "One Off Gingham" curtains and Gold Plaid cloth interior, this is very, very rare.
I have a few spares from the bay that I will dig out for you that you may be able to use as you refresh it all up, all the kick panels are ash so with care they can be brought back up to nearly new.
Enjoy your resto and if you need any help, advice (good and bad) just post it up I am sure plenty will be forthcoming.

Jon
If you are on line I know of a fantastic condition (34,000miles from new) 2.0ltr petrol T25 Caravelle, all service history, 1 lady owner, mint, £6,000...all it needs is the seats ripping out and a camper interior and you are on your way...oh its blue by the way

That T25 sounds fabulous Derek...... but IF I was going to purchase another VW it would have to be a bay (can't afford a split) and it would need to be stock original (so not picky at all)! I am in a real dilemma now.....not that I have the spare cash hanging around but it would be so nice to take the kiddies camping and not have to use the tent! I am sorry Rich for the hijacked post!

Now that's close!! Tax free don't save muchos coinos in the vw world..... but it sounds d**n good!! For some reason, two identical vehicles, one tax free, tax free would sell for £500-£1000 more!!! Guessing, but.......
