Thought we would share a few hidden gems ..........would recommend any of these if you feel like an Scottish adventure, this is a typical September (less midges)trek for Daisybus: (all dog friendly) all fees are approx.
Gart caravan club site at Callander £20/night.
cobbleland forestry commission site £10/night. Aberfoyle.
Glen Nevis (see Alex post).
Silver sands (Near Arisaig) £6/ night (basic) but right on your own private (Silversand) beach with the seals! and you pass Glenfinnan Viaduct (Harry Potter) on route.
Big sands, Gairloch £15/night camp in the sand dunes.
Broomfield, Ullapool £11/night.. gateway to the outer Hebrides, traditional fishing port, stunning.
Ardmair point, near ullapool £12/night, usually windy.
Applecross £15/night this is wortha stay, some of the most dramatic views can been see from here, you must drive the Applecross cattle path but not for the faint hearted, hairpin bends and 1 in 5's or less, ideal for reduction box's!! forget it if your IRS. the road drops into the Torridon Mountains, Fantastic.
Scourie camp site £12/night, nice and clean.
Durness campsite (most north westerly point British Isles) smoo cave is here well worth a look. we met Some Germans here in a split firetruck and a westy bay, they too had driven up after Vanfest! They went swimming in the sea! snow was expected that day!
Portree campsite Isles of Skye £8/night.
Gresornish campsite "" "" nice home baking to order, F R eggs.
Glen brittle "" "" right under the black Cullin's, so great for walking, incredible views.
